We are looking for a Payroll Manager that will sit in our Moline, Illinois KONE Operations Center.


SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP Preferred

This role is based in Moline, Illinois and reports to the Director of Total Rewards, Americas. We are looking for an expert adviser within the Total Compensation Team and provide support to HR Shared Services. The position will interact with internal clients, vendors and employees requiring strategic thinking and a commitment to results. This position will manage a payroll team, develop/propose payroll strategies, ensure effective process development and execution and responsible for data processing and reporting for US and Canada. This individual will create a strong partnership with compensation, benefits and finance. This person will successfully work across cultures in the US and Canada and manage large projects and multiple payrolls. This professional will bring efficiencies and process improvement across geographies and will operate as a proactive problem solver and leader.

Requirements

 

 

  • Perform payroll services to the business managing a team of Payroll Associates focused on salaried, union and certified payroll for US and Canada. Provide support in HR Shared Service Center regarding the resolution of payroll issues. Contribute to the overall successful delivery of HR services to customers as a part of the HR Service Delivery team.

  • Ultimately responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll preparation and processing through the Payroll Associates by managing the collection, calculation, and entering of payroll data in ADP. This includes directing the production and issuance of pay via paper checks and electronic transfers to bank.

  • Responsible for successful management of payroll vendors ensuring compliance with contracts and service level agreements, managing costs and timely processing of payroll related invoices.

  • Work with local Mobility Specialist and external tax partner on the execution of International Assignee, Local Plus, Local hire and Expatriate payroll items including pay and taxes.

  • Partners with Finance to ensure accurate reporting of payroll to the general ledger; lead the internal and external payroll audits.

  • Develop documentation and work with Training area to develop materials and deliver training to HR community and line managers regarding payroll policies, procedures and systems administration (Work Day and ADP). Create appropriate communication materials.

  • Complies with country, federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.

  • Prepares reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and non-taxable wages.

  • Acts as escalation point for the most complex payroll related questions and requests that cannot be handled by Payroll Associates. Be available to assist in resolving existing payroll discrepancies.

  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge and expertise by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.Develop expert knowledge base within compensation across ENA. Understand and manage to SLA and KPIs.

  • In line with COE guidelines, give input to local compensation plans. Collaborate and present information with internal stakeholders with data and key findings.

  • Perform all System Admin duties for ADP Enterprise, including working with ADP vendor contact on required system updates and changes.

  • Strong knowledge of laws and regulations regarding payroll administration

  • Broad knowledge of industry and market best practices

  • Experience with managing international payroll

  • Union and certified payroll (preferred)

  • ADP EV5 and Work Day experience preferred

  • Project management, strongly preferred

 

Education

 

BA/BS within Human Resources or similar degree, 8+ years of relevant working experience

 

Fluency in English; Spanish a plus
