The People, Culture and Wellness Senior Generalist is responsible for a variety of functions within the HR/PCW Department, developing strong working relationships, and establishing appropriate communication channels while providing proactive human resources support in relation to overall operational objectives. This position will also be responsible for managing various HR projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.
  • Provides value-added consultation to managers and supervisors on employee issues
  • Takes the lead team role in providing employee coaching and counseling, including corrective actions and communication that support business needs and promote a fair and positive work environment.
  • Manage Tiny Pulse feedback system, including responding to employees, and sending out weekly reports to Gaia team.
  • Report on monthly PCW KPI’s, and develop appropriate People Analytics to track trends.
  • Identify and recommend best practices that enhance and build a performance-driven business culture, aligned with Gaia’s core values
  • Development and administrate an employee recognition program, designed to touch all locations and employee types.
  • Participate in compensation program review and development, including salary surveys, benchmarking, research, etc.
  • Assist in development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; maintains updated employee handbook
  • Maintains job descriptions for each position to ensure that they are updated and compliant; 
  • Ensures reviews are conducted on time for all employees.
  • Co-lead new hire orientation and coordination of on-boarding procedures
  • Prepare required annual reports (e.g. for OSHA and EEO)
  • General human resources project management


Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience required
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ of related experience as a generalist or combination of benefits, recruitment and employee relations required
  • Strong Education and Coaching background required
  • PHR or SPHR, and/or SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP designation preferred
  • Previous experience with a payroll system and/or an HRIS preferred
  • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize payroll/HRIS programs and MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook required
