PROFESSOR (m/f) (W2) for INTERNATIONAL HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGEMENT

starting in September 2018.

Your passion

  • You are an expert in all aspects of international Human Resources Management - on an operative as well as a strategic level. It is important to you to use current, interactive teaching methods, to be an inspiring lecturer as well as a dedicated advisor to the students.
  • Your research and teaching provide answers to HRM challenges on a structural as well as a conceptual level, focusing on globalization and internationalization
  • You lead and participate in research on current HR topics (e.g. new work, digitalization, talent analytics) and seek a strong involvement with local/national industry partners.
  • You want to play an active role in the continuous development of our HR programs to ensure that our students acquire the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills to successfully enter the job market.
  • You can identify yourself with the strategy of our AACSB-accredited business school.

 

Your profile and qualifications

  • You are open and enthusiastic and want to actively contribute to our team.
  • You have held international HR positions, preferably in a management role, and have experience in generalist HR positions (e.g. as an HR Business Partner with strong knowledge of workforce planning, controlling, compensation, benefits, employee relations, etc.).
  • You preferably have an academic background in economics and have also gained practical HR experience with an economic focus.
  • You have recently published applied research in relevant journals and have a strong background in empirical methods and data analytics.
  • You possess teaching experience in related teaching fields at the bachelor and master level with evidence of teaching excellence.

Your responsibilites

  • Teach assigned courses at the undergraduate and graduate level, employing current teaching methods. Courses will be taught in English, ability to teach in German would be considered an asset.
  • Conduct research in the Human Rescources Competence Center aimed toward applied and research journals.
  • Provide service to the university and on faculty committees
  • Promote interdisciplinary research and teaching.

 

The formal requirements for applicants are a university degree and a Ph.D. or a comparable scientific qualification. A minimum of five years of postgraduate experience is required, of which a minimum of three years must have been gained outside the university. The successful applicant will initially be offered a tenured position on probation which will automatically be changed to a tenured position when the conditions stipulated by the state government (Baden-Württemberg) have been fulfilled.
