About the Position

 

We are seeking a recruiter to join the Nuveen Talent Acquisition team in our Chicago, New York, or Charlotte office. In this role, the recruiter will facilitate the recruiting process for assigned functions or lines of business. They will coordinate the full life cycle recruitment process, including specification development, candidate sourcing, interviewing and referring candidates, and extending offers. In addition, the recruiter will partner with hiring managers and HR Business Partners to gain a detailed understanding of organizational goals and needs, and deliver diverse slates of qualified candidates while maintaining a strong service orientation at all times.

 

Major Responsibilities:

 

  • Partner with HR Business Partners and business leaders to understand functional-specific recruiting needs

  • Develop recruiting strategies that align to the needs, goals, and vision of the department and of the organization

  • Facilitate the recruiting process in compliance with company standards and with government regulations

  • Maintain strong working knowledge of areas of functional focus by staying abreast of best practices, legal developments, emerging trends, technological advancements, and benchmark comparisons.

  • Ensure processes within Taleo, our applicant tracking system (“ATS”) are closely followed, including keeping folders, job requisitions, statuses, applicant tracking guidelines, and so on

  • Advocate for continual improvement by identifying opportunities to increase the effectiveness of the Talent Acquisition team

  • Build and maintain strong working relationship with 3rd party search firms and other vendors as needed

  • Maintain ongoing and proactive communication with candidates and hiring managers regarding status and other updates

     

    Required Skills and Experience:

     

  • 3+ years of related experience

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple stakeholders

  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize effectively

  • Strong orientation to service, quality, and ongoing improvement

  • Ability to work without direct supervision and demonstrate a high level of accountability at all times

  • Concise communication and strong interpersonal skills

  • Successful track record in networking and building and maintaining positive, effective partnerships

  • Strong sense of urgency in handling day-to-day and ad hoc tasks

  • Basic working knowledge of Windows Office Suite

     

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Experience with Taleo applicant tracking system

  • Prior exposure to/experience in asset management or financial services
