Matrix Design Group, a nationally recognized engineering, planning, and environmental consulting firm, is looking for an experienced Recruiting and Human Resources Administrator with a strong recruiting background. This position may be based in our Colorado Springs or Denver office and will require some travel between the two.  The successful candidate will be experienced with recruiting tools to include social media, will have a professional appearance and demeanor and a desire to provide top-level customer service to our employees.


The Recruiting and HR Administrator will spend approximately 50% of her/his time on recruitment activities to include actively sourcing candidates, job posting, applicant tracking, and Affirmative Action Program (AAP) compliance. The Recruiting and HR Administrator will also be responsible for some day-to-day HR support, benefits administration and may provide backup payroll processing. 

Job duties may include but are not limited to:                         

  • Working with hiring managers to compose job ads.

  • Posting job ads on multiple sites such as LinkedIn, Monster, state employment sites, and industry specific sites.

  • May participate in job fairs either in-person or virtually.

  • Tracking applicants using ADP’s Applicant Tracking System (ATS).

  • Screening candidates as needed.

  • Coordinating with hiring managers/teams to schedule interviews.

  • Preparing offer letters.

  • Maintaining compliance with all AAP requirements.

  • Provide day-to-day support for employee questions regarding benefits administration to include health and wellness plans, 401k, Employee Stock Ownership Plan, FMLA, and work comp.

  • If located in Denver, provide new hire orientation for employees hired into the Denver office and assist with onboarding process.

  • Track employee appraisals and license/certification renewals and communicate timelines to staff.

  • General administrative support for HR to include assistance with newsletter.

  • May provide backup for payroll processing for two multi-state companies using ADP Workforce Now and STG payroll processing systems.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:


  • Minimum of five years of recruitment experience.

  • HR or recruiting experience as a federal contractor.

  • Able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.

  • Minimum of three years of direct HR experience to include benefits administration.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Current driver license and acceptable driving record (MVR will be required).


Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:


  • Experience with ADP Software (payroll, benefits, recruitment)

  • Experience in the A&E industry is strongly preferred.

  • Minimum of three years of payroll experience with knowledge of general payroll procedures and applicable laws.

  • Good understanding of HR, Benefits and Payroll laws to include but not limited to: FLSA, ACA, FMLA, ADA, and ADEA.
