Job Details

Reporting directly to the Law School’s Associate Director of Human Resources, the Recruiting Manager develops and implements the School’s centralized, full cycle staff recruitment process, including proactive candidate sourcing, qualifying candidates for varied and diverse positions at all levels of the organization, managing the interview process, including executive searches, and cost effective advertising.

Advises and counsels faculty and staff managers on hiring and related decisions and provides exceptional customer service to candidates and to clients across the School. Collaborates with hiring managers and human resources generalists in establishing new hire salaries. Provides periodic training on the recruitment process to managers and staff, acting as a local expert on local and university processes and systems. Responsible for implementing the School’s diversity recruitment strategy and for assisting with EEO and affirmative action compliance and reporting. Oversees the publication and analysis of School recruitment and position management metrics, and is responsible for references and background checks.  Develops and implements a social media recruitment strategy for the School. Acts as the School’s liaison to university recruitment staff and participates in related committees as appropriate. Participates fully in a variety of integrated HR team projects and events.


Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required.  Minimum of 5 years of experience in high volume recruiting.

Additional Qualifications

Ability to provide exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment is critical. Managerial experience is preferred.  Experience in a unionized environment a plus.  Demonstrated knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.   Proactive style with a strong commitment to finding the best fit for every role.  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including written communications, a must.  Demonstrated ability to work effectively under time pressure in a high volume transactional environment.  Proficiency with MS Office applications and experience using an online applicant tracking system is a plus. Knowledge of and/or interest in other HR lines of business, particularly generalist work, is helpful.
