Job Details

The IT Recruiting Manager is a key member of Buchanan & Edwards and plays an active role in leading and developing the Talent Acquisition Team and acts as a business partner to the operations line. The successful candidate will have a strong track record of leading a team of technical recruiters for a government contracting company and will have deep experience and a strong understanding of technologies, defense contracts, contracts and clearance process. This reports to the Director of Talent Acquisition/Human Resources.

The IT Recruiting Manager is a key member of Buchanan & Edwards and plays an active role in leading and developing the Talent Acquisition Team and acts as a business partner to the operations line. The successful candidate will have a strong track record of leading a team of technical recruiters for a government contracting company and will have deep experience and a strong understanding of technologies, defense contracts, contracts and clearance process. This reports to the Director of Talent Acquisition/Human Resources.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Lead recruiting team of 2-3 technical recruiters in close collaboration with the Director of Talent Acquisition/Human Resources.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships and act as a business partner to Hiring Mangers and operational leads.
  • Develop recruitment strategies and staffing plans to achieve required staffing levels.
  • Approve job postings and distribute internally and externally and approves offer approvals.
  • Responsible for planning programs and events to include: job fairs, employee referral program, B&E alumni program, summer internship program, college recruiting, military recruiting, diversity, technical events and other special events.
  • Hold staff meetings and recruiting status meetings with hiring managers.
  • Represent TA at proposal kick off meetings.
  • Manage recruiting vendors to include staffing agencies, job fair vendors and job boards.
  • Troubleshoots critical issues and escalates as necessary.
  • Provide recruitment training to management and recruiting staff.
  • Maintain metrics and reports related to the recruitment function.
  • Develop, foster and maintain a pipeline of candidates.
  • Responsible for continuous process improvement, policies and best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
  • 7-9 years of overall Recruiting experience; experience recruiting technical requirements in the cleared space for government contracts.
  • 2-3 years’ experience as a manager or supervisor of recruiters 
  • Must be able to partner with all stake holders in the company: Contracts, Business Development, Proposal Development, Executive Team, Human Resources, Security, Operations, and Finance.
  • Knowledge of OFCCP regulations and latest regulations affecting talent acquisition as it relates to government contracting.
  • Knowledge of applicant tracking systems, preferably iCIMS.
  • Ability to research, develop, and write job descriptions.
  • Ability to do market pricing of jobs.
  • Proposal recruiting experience.
  • Ability to assess business practices and make improvements for best practices and processes.
  • Understanding of federal government clearance process.
  • Advanced-level computer proficiency in Word and Excel Ability and flexibility to work independently and with teams in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically
  • Strong networking and interviewing skills
  • Ability to take initiative, strong attention to detail, and strong organizational skills.
