Director of National Recruitment Opportunity


The Director of National Recruitment is a critical leader on the Talent Team who will lead national recruitment efforts of educators across eighteen schools in four regions. Our success as an organization is dependent on having excellent teachers in every classroom who are responsible for ensuring that all students achieve at or beyond grade level. Each school is led by a team of visionary school leaders to achieve the school’s mission of eliminating the achievement gap. The Director of Recruitment will oversee the work of a team of 6 recruiters.


Responsibilities


Recruitment and Talent Strategy

  • Set vision and direction to attract, recruit, hire, and onboard outstanding educators across Rocketship’s four regions

  • Partner with stakeholders across teams and schools to lead a cohesive and collaborative approach to talent acquisition

  • Advise school leaders on recruitment team and workforce planning

  • Set ambitious goals and analyze recruitment-related data to drive decision making

  • Develop and refine deep understanding of successful candidate profiles

  • Lead recruitment messaging externally and internally

  • Provide thought leadership as well as tools and systems to foster strong recruitment practices and talent leadership across the network


Team Leadership

  • Lead a team of goal-driven recruiters who manage full cycle recruiting and hiring

  • Drive performance management of high-performing team by setting, tracking, and communicating ambitious goals and progress

  • Foster strong sense of team and collaboration across all school and regions

  • Set vision and drive forward special projects including shoulder season hiring, referrals program, interview and selection processes, and school placement

  • Facilitate an exceptional recruitment experience for all candidates


External Partnerships and Pipelines

  • Identify new sources of school-based staff talent; build and maintain partnerships

  • Oversee strategy for job posting, external advertising, and social media outreach

  • Partner with marketing team to run strong campaigns that appeal to educators

  • Develop strategy and lead partnerships with universities and credentialing institutions


Direct Recruitment

  • Manage full cycle recruiting, hiring, and placement of talented teachers and leaders

  • Partner with hiring managers to identify recruitment needs and implement strategies to develop recruiting pipeline

  • Facilitate an exceptional recruitment experience for all candidates

  • Utilize “outside the box” recruiting techniques to source candidates through the use of the internet, social media, and other online resources

  • Screen candidates through resume reviews, phone interviews, and demonstration lessons; perform reference checks


Systems and Operations

  • Create sustainable and replicable hiring strategies, processes and tools to facilitate the hiring of qualified candidates

  • Leverage technology to improve efficiency and manage workflow, including an applicant tracking system and team communication tools

  • Identify and plan for needs to help team scale with Rocketship’s growth

  • Manage budget

Experience

  • 3+ years of highly successful recruitment experience in K-12 education

  • 2+ years of management experience preferred

Compensation and Benefits


Compensation: commensurate with experience


This position will be based the Rocketship home office in Redwood City, CA with occasional travel (up to 20% time).
