Senior Benefits Analyst
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois
This position is responsible for developing, implementing and managing the organization's employee and retiree benefit programs and policies including all health and welfare plans, and work/life/time-off policies and programs; ensuring benefit programs support the organization's strategic objectives and the Human Resources value proposition to attract, develop and retain high quality diverse employees; monitoring legislation and industry developments; managing benefit program vendors; and ensuring the Human Resources Service Center has clear understanding of benefit policies and programs.
*Bachelors Degree in Business or Human Resources or 5 years equivalent work experience; CEBS certification preferred.
*5 years experience working with health and welfare benefit plans; health insurance industry background preferred.
*Demonstrated project management skills.
*Proven abilities to manage multiple projects.
*Effective presentation, consultation, networking, verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
*Demonstrated analytical and negotiation skills.
*Demonstrated skills in word processing, online research, preparation of spreadsheets and PowerPoint presentations; experience in working with HR systems and/or system support.
*Advanced Excel skills
