Job Profile:

The Senior Compensation Analyst will support the HR function in the design, implementation and administration of compensation programs and policies. This role will provide expertise and leadership around compensation including compensation models, methodologies and analytics. S/he will collaborate with the Director of HR, HR colleagues, company leaders and external consultants to deliver compensation programs and processes that are competitive, transparent, fair and financially sustainable.


Primary Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate in the development of our new compensation system including building formal salary ranges, creating new processes for salary increases and administration, determining our approach to variable pay, and helping to provide education for leaders and individual contributors.

  • Perform financial modeling to ensure viability of programs.

  • Participate in regular benchmarking processes and analyze industry data to evaluate roles and determine competitiveness of salaries and total compensation by market.

  • Develop and update quantitative models and formulate recommendations and revisions to the compensation structure.

  • Design and build compensation metrics, reports and tools to inform compensation program decisions and analyze business outcomes.

  • Partner with HR Business Partners and department leaders to provide appropriate guidance regarding pay decisions, policies and job evaluation.

  • Review salary increase recommendations for quarterly salary review meetings, prepare analysis and spend reporting, and ensure proper approvals before processing.

  • Lead the gathering of insights by researching and networking with other companies to keep abreast of best practices and trends in compensation.

  • Create materials to effectively communicate compensation programs, policies and practices to employees and leaders.

  • Manage participation in annual compensation surveys for Korn Ferry Hay and IPAS.

  • Ensure pay practices are compliant with U.S. federal and state requirements as well as relevant requirements for the UK.

  • Administer the annual process for salary increases including system set-up, validation of data and distribution of reports.

  • Provide guidance on variable pay programs through analysis of our Profit Sharing and Store Incentive programs.


Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 5 or more years of experience in compensation and total rewards

  • Strong technical knowledge of compensation and analytics; excellent math skills

  • Significant experience working with HR technology, data and reporting

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including advanced Excel and PowerPoint

  • Demonstrated ability to create accurate, validated exhibits for decision making

  • Experience with UK and Canada compensation a plus
