Munson Healthcare has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Compensation Analyst to work for a growing health care system – in a place you will love living.

 

The Senior Compensation Analyst, as compensation content expert for the Munson Healthcare system, leads the compensation function and coordinates the work of one other compensation analyst. This individual spends the majority of his/her time evaluating job descriptions and benchmarking pay, developing candidate pay offers, maintaining the pay range structure, compiling salary survey data and facilitating the annual wage adjustment program.

ORGANIZATION

  • Reports to the Director of Compensation & Benefits.

  • Close day-to-day working and consultative relationship with other Human Resources staff.

  • Continuous contact and interaction with staff and management personnel regarding compensation concepts/methods and application and interpretation of appropriate policy.

SPECIFIC DUTIES

  1. Supports the Mission, Vision and Values of Munson Healthcare.

  5. Maintains confidentiality of information and records.

  6. Communicates, relates and interacts tactfully and effectively with employees from all levels within the organization.

  7. Conducts wage/salary surveys within an appropriate labor market and maintains ready access to current market data.

  8. Interprets and monitors survey data to develop and/or predict trends and assesses the organization’s competitive position within a given market.

  9. Performs specialized research studies on a range of compensation and HR topics, as specifically assigned for internal HR use; analyzes and interprets data and prepares summary reports.

  10. Maintains current Position Descriptions and assists others in preparation of accurate descriptions.

  11. Evaluates Position Descriptions and makes recommendations regarding wage/salary assignment utilizing position comparatives and market wage data.

  12. Gathers and develops statistical data and simulates cost/budget projections.

  13. Seeks to convert raw pay data into information for operational, tactical, and strategic decision-making, particularly within the specific service lines and/or departments.

  14. Generates standard and special reports from Payroll/HRIS; assists management in accessing relevant labor information. Performs financial and other analyses as assigned by the Director of Compensation & Benefits and the management of the organization.

  15. Prepares individual employee data for timely and accurate preparation and distribution of annual wage increases.

  16. Interprets wage/benefit policy to others. Monitors adherence to and comprehension of policy by others and recommends change to improve comprehension, internal equity, conformity and clarity.

  17. Maintains current knowledge of legislation and court decisions applicable to FLSA, wage administration and human resources in general.

  18. Gathers information for Worker’s Compensation, EEO, and PBGC reports.

  19. Responds to surveys that are beneficial to Munson Health Care or the community.

  20. Performs all other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements

 

ENTRY REQUIREMENT

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field is required; Masters preferred.

  • Minimum of five (5) years demonstrated competence in compensation administration. Experience must demonstrate knowledge and acceptance of Human Resources activity and purpose. Minimum of three (3) years experience with executive compensation programs desired.

  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Excel and Access required.

  • Working knowledge of legislation and legal decisions affecting compensation and human resources is desirable.

  • Demonstrated ability to take complex data, interpret it, make sound recommendations and communicate them in an easy-to-understand manner.

  • Must have the ability to make administrative and procedural decisions and judgments on sensitive, confidential issues without exhibiting bias.

  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills.
