Under the leadership of a new CEO focused on transformational change, The Arc CCR has a unique opportunity for an innovative, forward-thinking senior human resources leader to assume the role of Senior Director of People & Culture.

The Arc CCR provides supports to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families.We now proudly serve Anne Arundel, Caroline, Dorchester, Kent, Queen Anne’s and Talbott counties.The Arc CCR has a staff of 425. For more information about our organization, see

The Senior Director of People & Culture, in partnership with the CEO and Chief of Staff, will provide visionary leadership, direction, and oversight of The Arc’s People & Culture. The Senior Director will support the mission and goals of The Arc by constantly striving to promote, improve and support the development, well-being, and effectiveness of staff. The Senior Director will lead talent acquisition, organizational diversity, employee development, compensation management and employee relations.

Over the next twelve to eighteen months, The Arc will be transforming its human resource operations from a transactional personnel office to a strategic business partner that builds our workforce and positions the organization as an employer of choice in the field of human services. This is an exciting opportunity for a change agent to move our HR processes and systems that will empower all employees at The Arc. We’re looking for a self-starter that can take initiative and adapt to a changing landscape in the field of disabilities.


Ideal candidates for this position will reflect The Arc CCR’s core values and demonstrate an ability to quickly integrate intoThe Arc CCR and be a strong partner for senior management. Candidates should have knowledge and experience building innovative human resource operations with a centralized/decentralized approach. Candidates must have five-plus years of human resources and/or organizational development with a progressive HR leadership role. Experience in organizational change and manager empowerment is a must; a teambuilding approach and a willingness to support transformative change; experience working across cultural, geographic and programmatic lines; and a bachelor’s degree are strongly preferred; masters and HR credential (such as PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus. Competitive salary and benefits package will be offered.
