Job Details

Under the direction of the Director of Employee Relations, this position is responsible for developing resolutions to Employee Relations/Labor issues by providing advice, research and direction to management and employees.



Provides advice, consultation and direction to Leaders to resolve employee relation issues involving a variety of areas including but not limited to corrective action, workplace behavior, performance and attendance. Conducts internal investigations and prepares investigative reports. Assists with the administration and interpretation of the collective bargaining agreement. Coordinates and prepares presentation of cases for arbitration and administrative hearings such as unemployment, MCAD and Civil Claims. Represents Tufts Medical Center. Knowledgeable with regard to Leave of Absence Administration issues. Works with the Human Resources Team on the planning and organization of employee events. Works with the Director of Employee Relations to provide union contract administration services including the investigation of grievances and assists in representing Tufts Medical Center at grievance arbitrations.


Bachelor's degree in HR, business or related field. Advance Labor relations degree and/or Master's degree a plus.
Requires five years of employee relations and labor relations experience
Excellent communications skills, both oral and written
Solid computer skills need needed, including knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, and HRIS systems.
Solid knowledge of employment law, including federal and state leave laws, ADA, FLSA, Comprehensive Labor relations, discrimination laws.
