Position Overview:

Provide a broad range of HR partnership and support of business objectives, strategic goals, and human resource initiatives. Perform diverse assignments including recruiting, employee relations, performance management, workforce planning, training, and other special projects for assigned region in a fast-paced environment. Effectively collaborate with other members of the HR team, supervisors and staff across all locations.


 

Essential Responsibilities:

 

  1. Responsible for recruiting life cycle, from posting to onboarding, ensuring both candidate and hiring manager satisfaction by establishing and exceeding expectations and providing regular communication to all parties involved throughout the hiring process.

  2. Develop and maintain good relationships with hiring managers to ensure job requisitions match requirements and preferred skills, experience, and abilities for each position. Work with the management team to deliver and improve the recruiting and workforce strategy. Coordinate recruiting efforts with others in HR across locations.

  3. Serve as a resource for employee questions related to HR topics such as benefits, protected leave, etc. Coordinate with department knowledge experts.

  4. Create an environment of positive employee relations, keep confidentiality, establish trust and credibility, be seen by employees as approachable and fair, balance business needs with employee needs, and spend significant time interfacing directly with employees and supervisors in assigned region.

  5. Conduct New Employee Orientation sessions and assist in providing strong onboarding experience to new employees.

  6. Actively participate in the development and deployment of HR programs and efforts to assist organization in achieving strategic goals. Work collaboratively with HR team and staff/supervisors across all locations. Coordinate and lead work for HR specific assigned topics e.g. Affirmative Action Plan and compensation and benefits surveys.

  7. Participate in projects related to the software functionality of the department (HRIS, LMS, performance management system, etc.). Become proficient in various software programs, serve as software administrator, and/or actively participate in upgrades and implementations. Make recommendations on improvements and efficiencies for software programs.

  8. Assist in the management of Workers’ Compensation claims for assigned region.

  9. Support and properly apply policies and practices. Investigate and ensure fair resolution of issues.

  10. Assist Learning and Development Manager in assessing learning needs and conducing training.

 

Supporting Responsibilities:

 

  1. Provide backup to other HR staff members as needed.

  2. Complete necessary administrative tasks including scanning documents into online personnel files, preparing benefit packets, etc.

  3. Meet department and company performance and attendance expectations.

  4. Follow the PacificSource privacy policy and HIPAA laws and regulations concerning confidentiality and security of protected health information.

  5. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Work Experience:

Minimum of 3 years of progressive HR experience required. Prior recruiting experience required.  Prior experience with software implementations and administration preferred. Prior experience in an HR specialty e.g. AAP, training and development, benefits.


 

Education, Certificates, Licenses:

Requires BS/BA degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Management, or related field or equivalent work experience. SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP,  PHR or SPHR Certification preferred and encouraged.


 

Knowledge:

Ability to work well under changing priorities and deadlines with frequent interruptions required. Thorough knowledge and practical understanding of human resources functions and state and federal employment regulations, and a broad understanding of the business and the role each functional area plays. Ability to: read and interpret company policies and procedures; analyze market survey data and identify trends; present information clearly and concisely; exercise tact and diplomacy and maintain confidentiality. Strong knowledge or experience in the use of software applications to conduct daily business functions required, super-user capability preferred. Must have a passion for customer service (internal and external) and strong influencing skills.


Environment:

Work inside in a general office setting with ergonomically configured equipment. Travel is required approximately 5% of the time.


Physical Requirements:

Stoop and bend. Sit and/or stand for extended periods of time while performing core job functions.  Repetitive motions to include typing, sorting and filing. Light lifting and carrying of files and business materials. Ability to read and comprehend both written and spoken English. Communicate clearly and effectively. Ability to work in a very faced-paced environment on simultaneous mental tasks.
