Heartland Financial USA, Inc. (Heartland) is seeking a Senior HR Generalist to join our growing team in Rockford, IL.  The Senior HR Generalist is responsible for providing strategic partnership to assigned internal customers via a proactive approach to Talent Acquisition, Talent Development, Talent Management, and HR Operations Support. The Senior HR Generalist will act as an integral part of member bank senior management discussions, and uses a consultative approach to help assigned internal customers reach their strategic business goals through the effective use of human capital.



1. Responsible for timely generation of candidates through the defined hiring process

2. Identifies training opportunities and develops and delivers training directly on a variety of subjects

3. Helps to manage staff integration and retention during year one through a structured approach

4. Manages employee relation issues, including coaching, investigations, and disciplinary actions

5. College Degree required, advanced degree a plus

6. 7-10 years of Human Resource experience
