Ever worked for a company where Human Resources could have easily have been called Robot Resources? Yeah, us too and we didn’t like it either. That’s why Fender Musical Instruments Corporation ("FMIC") is looking for a Sr. Human Resources Business Partner, Manufacturing for our Corona, CA manufacturing facility who will be the credible, professional face of Human Resources but who can also crack a smile. Our aim is to be professional, work hard and get amazing things accomplished without sacrificing our sense of humor and enthusiasm.

Since you’ve had several years of experience in this field you know how chaotic your work week can be and that there’s no such thing as a “typical day”. You might be working on culture initiatives one day and be the mediator between two disagreeing parties the next, all the while having to maintain a calm, cool demeanor and make smart, educated and informed decisions. Sounds like a breeze right? Well, that’s not all.

You will need to be proactive and identify trends and potential issues ahead of time, then find the apt solution. This may entail handling workplace investigations and interpreting or applying policy and procedures. You will definitely spend time with all of our new hires because you will handle New Hire Orientations and facilitate various training programs. You’ll need to exercise your abilities to be perceptive, thoughtful and responsible in all situations.

In addition to what we listed above, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Working on culture initiatives
  • Performing mediation duties between two (2) disagreeing parties
  • Consult with your HR peers and senior leaders in areas regarding employee development, workforce planning, compensation and benefit changes, staffing and organizational structure, terminations, and adherence to laws and company guidelines
  • Advocating our company’s culture ensuring an ethical and safe environment for all employees

Requirements

To truly be effective in this role, we’ve identified key behaviors, characteristics and areas of experience that meet the requirements of this position. They include, but are not limited to the following:

  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Human Resource Generalist/HR Business Partner, in a Distribution/Warehouse and/or Manufacturing environment
  • Language fluency in Spanish (reading, writing and speaking) is required
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken
  • An unflappable level of integrity with a strict sense of confidentiality
  • Ability to establish rapport and credibility at all levels of the company
  • Demonstrated knowledge in Federal and State employment labor laws with specific working knowledge of CA employment laws, practices and regulations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience working with an HRIS preferably SuccessFactors
  • And of course…a passion for music!

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology or similar
  • PHR/SPHR preferred by not required
