Reporting directly to the Director of Talent Management and Professional Development, the Senior Human Resources Consultant delivers Human Resources programs in the areas of learning and organizational development, employee relations, and talent acquisition. This position supports employee relations programs, and interprets the College's policies and procedures. The Senior Human Resources Consultant will also engage in and support employee learning and development as well as serve as a resource district-wide in the area of recruitment, selection and retention. This position will exercise sound professional judgment regarding confidential issues and will be responsible for Human Resources' commitment to social media outreach

Duties and Responsibilities
Employee Relations

Interprets and provides guidance and coaching to employees and supervisors on existing organizational policies and procedures
Provides guidance on policies and procedures for Human Resources initiatives related to performance management, recruitment, selection and retention, and professional development
Maintains confidential employee relations files and ensures the logging and archiving of records
Consults and works with supervisors and employees on workplace conflict resolution; assists with the development of action plans; and, maintains documentation on meetings held
Reviews completed performance evaluations for classified staff; identifies patterns or discrepancies
Develops and conducts district-wide trainings and presentations on performance management, conflict resolution, and college policies
Collaborates with other Senior Consultants on unemployment claims
Maintains currency with college policy and withall applicable laws and regulations dealing with employment issues (FLSA, FMLA, EEO, etc.)
Collaborates on the development of Employee Relations metrics
Conducts and participates in special studies, surveys, analysis, and research for special projects as directed; analyze workforce trends to identify areas for continuous improvement
Conducts Exit Interviews with exiting employees to gather feedback and make suggestions to improve the employee experience
Performs other duties as assigned

Talent Acquisition
Collaborates with and supports the hiring manager on recruitment, selection, and retention for classified staff and administrators
Coordinates and processes new hire paperwork, background checks, onboarding scheduling, responding to inquiries, and ensuring a smooth transition for onboarding employees
Establishes business partnerships with hiring managers to develop and implement recruitment strategies; coaches hiring managers and supervisors on executing successful searches; posts position profiles (job announcements)
Assists hiring managers with targeting outreach strategies for diversifying applicant pools
Maintains currency with college policy and withall applicable laws and regulations dealing with employment issues (FLSA, FMLA, E-Verify, I-9, etc.)
Responsible for ensuring that social media platforms utilized by Human Resources is monitored and kept up-to-date
Collaborates on the preparation of Talent Acquisition metrics
Conducts and participates in special studies, surveys, analysis, and research for special projects as directed
Performs other duties as assigned

Organizational Effectiveness and Development
Collaborates and supports district-wide organizational and learning programs
Conducts presentations and training programs, including, but not limited to sexual harassment, Pathways to Civility, Supervision 101, and Service Excellence
Collaborates on the development of programs for employees to enhance personal and professional group
Assists with the College's Onboarding process
Conducts and participates in special studies, surveys, analysis, and research for special projects as directed
Performs other duties as assigned

Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Management with an emphasis in Human Resources or in a related field
Three yearsof related training and experience in a generalist role
Experience with PeopleAdmin and/or another Applicant Tracking System
Proficiency in Microsoft applications such as Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
Experience in conducting trainings and presentations
Knowledge, experience, and understanding of social media platforms including, but not limited to LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram

Preferred:
Higher Education Experience
Trained in Mediator/Conflict Resolution
Strong Analytical, Training and Presentation Skills
Ability to clearly and concisely communicate orally and in writing
Experience in Banner HRIS system
PHR/SPHR and/or SHRM-CP/SCP certification

Competencies:
Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively in a diverse, team-oriented environment
Strong knowledge and understanding of employment-related laws such as: Title VII, ADA, ADEA, EEO, FLSA, FMLA, I-9, E-Verify, FCRA, and interpreting and applying policies and procedures
Human Resources management theory, methods, and practices
Ability to coach supervisors and employees on resolution of complex matters
Demonstrated skills in presentations, outreach, and training
Applying effective conflict resolution practices
Ability to build strong working partnerships in the course of performing assigned duties
Strong ability to use diplomacy and tact when dealing with confrontational situations
Identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
Demonstrate skills at an advanced level in word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software, databases, and a variety of online application software
Demonstrated experience with social media platforms
Present ideas clearly, accurately, logically, and persuasively, both orally and in writing

Licensure/Certification:
Valid Arizona Driver's License

Physical Requirements:
Normal office environment, not subject to extreme variations of temperature, noise, odors, etc. More than half of time spent in office setting. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Constant use of computer keyboard requiring eye-hand coordination and dexterity
Incumbents may be required to travel
