Northrop Grumman Federal Credit Union is currently seeking a strong, experienced, highly proficient Senior Human Resources Generalist to be responsible for a wide variety of HR responsibilities. In this critical role, you will be performing HR-related duties on a professional level and work closely with department leaders in supporting our employee base. This will include administration of all HR programs, policies, and initiatives, employee relations, project management, recruitment, on-boarding, and performance management.  

This position requires an experienced, articulate, problem solver, an independent thinker that can drive processes and lead projects independently. To be successful in this role you must possess a strong knowledge of HR practices and employment law, a high skill level of attention to detail, strong prioritization and project management skills, and be a creative and flexible multi-tasker. 

The successful candidate will also have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or Organization Development, or equivalent combination of work experience and education.  
  • Five to eight plus years of progressive leadership experience in Human Resources positions
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and practices
  • Solid interpersonal and communication skills which allow for the appropriate methods of dealing with human behavior in a variety of business circumstances
  • Demonstrated skills in consensus-building and mediation in order to constructively address employee conflicts
  • Strategic thinking skills and the ability to demonstrate conceptual ideas and assist with the development of systems and processes that are executable, realistic and results-oriented
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills with the ability to work accurately with close attention to detail
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of employee turnover and other HR related data
  • Project management and research skills that may include researching and compiling records for data analysis, and other HR related activities
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to performing duties at a high level
  • The ability to operate effectively within the organizational structure; demonstrate trustworthiness and responsible, professional behavior
  • Ability to communicate with staff at all levels of the organization effectively and respectfully
  • Strong PC skills and high proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, & PowerPoint
  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification
