This position, an integral member of the North America People Services team, will be responsible for providing dedicated human resources services to a critical business line, United States Brokerage. This position contributes as a strategic business partner through the development and delivery of national Human Resources programs that enhance the company’s mission and core values.  

You will work collaboratively with the leadership team and People Services team to identify strategic HR priorities and develop, implement and execute HR programs in support of business goals. Additionally, this role will work with business line leaders to develop and implement engagement strategies, organizational capability strategies and champion critical change issues.

Summary of Essential Job Functions

  • Establish collaborative partnerships and influence results across the organization.
  • Contribute to moving HR from “reactive” to “proactive” and engage in driving initiatives within Brokerage.
  • Participate in the development of the “People” Strategy, departmental goals, objectives and systems.
  • Facilitate resolution of Human Resources issues in a timely manner and thrive in periods of intense activity. Responsible for coaching and directing performance management, employee relations, terminations and conflict resolution.
  • Develop, recommend and implement policies and procedures.
  • Work closely with the People Services specialist roles (Recruitment, Compensation etc.) to ensure proactive and effective strategies to attract, retain and motivate top talent.
  • Work within the business service line to understand training needs and develop initiatives ensuring a direct link to the business strategy.
  • Leverage best practices to improve the engagement of managers in coaching and developing employees.
  • Coach and develop HR team of direct reports.
  • Partner with HR North American team members and counterparts on HR initiatives.
  • Represent the organization at relevant industry events/associations relating to HR matters.
  • Other duties as required.


  • Degree in Human Resources or Business Administration with a minimum of 10-15 years’ relevant HR experience in a leadership role; experience in real estate or property management an asset.
  • Leadership experience and strong knowledge of fundamental HR programs and policies is essential.
  • Experience handling complex M&A transitions
  • Good balance of strategy and execution required.
  • Ability to operate with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to identify and analyze issues and implement effective and creative solutions.
  • Must manage highly confidential information with unquestionable integrity and professionalism.
  • Must have the ability to deal with ambiguity and demonstrate good judgment in resolving issues.
  • Strong customer service orientation with excellent interpersonal, influencing and communication skills required.
  • Ability to quickly establish credibility and influence with senior leaders.
  • Strong skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Sound knowledge of employment standards legislation in the US
  • Encourages and supports leadership and growth in others.
