Job Details

HollyFrontier Corporation is seeking a Senior Organizational Development Specialist who will lead Organizational Development activities for an assigned area or discipline across multiple sites. Accountability for designing, delivering, facilitating and or coordinating initiatives leading to strategic growth in accordance with the company’s mission, vision and values.


This position is not eligible for International Relocation Program benefits.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: (functions considered essential as defined by ADA)

  • Responsible for delivering company-wide training programs and activities for both new hires and existing employees

  • Responsible for ensuring company-wide curriculum, offerings and training programs and associated training materials and methods including classroom, on-the-job training, and e-learning programs are producing the desired results.

  • Consults with management and stakeholders to assess, prioritize, and propose implementation plans to meet learning and development needs

  • Leads assigned organizational training and development programs, event planning, accommodations, schedules, and all other related aspects of the training program and venue that address the needs of the Company’s employees targeting skills that need improvement or that further prepare employees for jobs that require greater skills

  • Develops training curriculum in partnership with content experts within the Organization as well as externally. Works with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to ensure quality and accuracy of the training program and designs

  • Monitors and assesses instructors’ performance and provides feedback to maximize trainer competencies and creates the appropriate development plan or training program

  • Designs, recommends, implements and deploys methodologies to evaluate, analyze and report on training effectiveness

  • Implements changes/improvements to training programs through evaluation, test results, and participant and manager feedback on training effectiveness

  • Facilitates workshops and training sessions on various topics including performance management philosophy, process, and tools

  • Develops and adheres to strict action plans for changes and implementations

  • Attends periodic meetings, training programs, reviews and other meetings as needed to remain current on any changes or upgrades in training and development

  • Develops training consistent with instructional design standards, adult learning theory, and knowledge of the targeted audience

    May be required to do some or all of the following:

  • Ensure consistent training record entry into the learning management system (LMS) and leverages LMS and other related learning, performance and talent management technology infrastructure to deliver e-Learning to employees for career development and succession planning plans and goals

  • Arranges training for employees targeting skills that need improvements or preparing employees for jobs that require greater skills

     

    Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion.

     

Requirements

Experience:

A minimum of eight years of work experience in developing, implementing, delivering, facilitating and coordinating organization development and training programs are required.

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

Oil and Gas Industry experience is preferred.

 

EDUCATIONAL LEVEL:

A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Instructional System Design, Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, or related field is required.

 

PREFERRED EDUCATIONAL LEVEL:

A Master’s Degree is preferred.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS:

Must demonstrate superior analytical, training, instructional design and productivity skills with an emphasis on organizational development concepts including relevant technologies, methods, and tools. Must be self-directed, analytical, organized and creative with complex projects and the advanced ability to effectively deliver presentations and training programs.Project and program management skills. The ability to effectively communicate with others, both written and verbal communication. Proven experience in facilitating and conducting training sessions (in person and virtual). Strong business acumen and consultative skills. Ability to influence others at all levels within the organization. Ability to work in a fast-paced, growth-oriented and matrixed organizational environment where flexibility and adaptability are necessary. Ability to work independently and with a team. Intermediate knowledge of the Microsoft suite of products (i.e., PowerPoint, Excel, Word). Proficient with Adobe Suite (i.e.Acrobat, Connect, Photoshop). Knowledge and demonstrated skills in standard e-Learning development tools (i.e. Camtasia); some knowledge of HTM. Ability to lead and train a small to large group of employees. Knowledge of company and safety policies and procedures; basic word processing, database, e-mail and spreadsheet applications skills. Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.

 

SUPERVISORY/MANAGERIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

May lead and direct the work of others on projects as assigned.

 

WORK CONDITIONS:

Office based and with up to 25% travel by land and air required. Subject to varying road and weather conditions.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Job conditions require standing, walking, sitting, twisting, stooping, crouching, kneeling, talking or hearing, making visual inspections, making precise hand and finger movements, reaching or grasping, lifting and/or carrying up to 20lbs, pushing and/or pulling up to 10lbs, perceiving color differences, ability to operate and drive all assigned company vehicles at company standard insurance rates is essential (inability to maintain standard insurance rates is grounds for dismissal), valid State driver’s license and proof of insurance required, and depending on assigned location the ability to wear personal protective equipment (beards not permitted).
