Job Details

Under the supervision of the Associate Director of Extension Human Resources, the Senior Recruiter manages recruitments of new employees and instructors within UCLA Extension and UCLA Global Learning, which is comprised of approximately 400 FTE and 2000 instructors. The Senior Recruiter also works with UCLA Extension’s Academic and Program Departments on employee/instructor contracts. Other duties include support of the overall HR function and special projects.

Hiring Range:


$58,000 -$65,000/annually

  • Skill in interviewing applicants and reviewing applications to quickly and accurately assess individual’s qualifications and experience based on requirements of the position. 
  • Writing skills sufficient to compose job descriptions and announcements, requisitions, memos and reports that are clear, logical and concise, using proper vocabulary, syntax and grammar. 
  • Ability to analyze jobs and their related functions to assist departments in developing duties and skills, knowledge and abilities. 
  • Hands on Human Resource Generalist experience
  • Excellent organizational skills to implement and maintain responsibilities and to complete assignments under conditions of fluctuating workload with frequent interruptions and distractions. 
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency including working knowledge of Windows, Word, Excel and Power Point.  
  • Working knowledge of University personnel policies, on-line systems, forms, and benefits enrollment.   Working knowledge of staff titles, class specifications and typical duty and skill requirements to accurately assess appropriate job classifications.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to ensure respectful, effective and cooperative interaction with staff members, applicants, vendors and other persons of various social, cultural, economic and educational backgrounds.
