The Specialist - Human Resources will provide support for specified departments, stations, and/or bases across the Envoy system.  To qualify for the position you must have knowledge of a wide variety of human resource functions, including working with a unionized workforce, and be able to handle highly sensitive and confidential information on a daily basis. 


 

Primary Responsibilities

 

  • Collaborate with business leaders and business partners to support strategic efforts related to workforce planning, leadership development, etc.

  • Provide general HR guidance for U.S. based Envoy employees, and advice & assistance to supervisors and managers in interpreting policies as well as collective bargaining agreements

  • Research complex issues to help operational leaders develop solutions consistent with company objectives and initiatives

  • Coordinate and conduct confidential investigations and recommend action; provide counsel and recommendations to supervisors and managers in matters of employee performance, corrective and disciplinary action, consistent with company policies and applicable federal and state labor laws and collective bargaining agreements

  • Prepare case summaries for review by senior management and corporate Legal department

  • Collaborate with leadership and union staff and provide policy briefings and training on various Human Resources topics as necessary

  • Participate in grievance hearings, partner with management and union leaders to resolve grievances, promote and foster productive and cooperative relationships among management and all labor groups

  • Provide assistance to management with company Reductions-in-Force, station start-ups, progressive discipline programs, attendance control programs, etc.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislation and collective bargaining contracts as it relates to union and non-union employment

  • Assist with unemployment hearings, onboarding and recruitment as needed


Requirements


Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Management or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training and job experience

  • Working knowledge of labor and employment regulations and collective bargaining agreements

  • Working knowledge of federal and state employment regulations affecting the workplace

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

  • Problem solving ability coupled with conflict management skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Customer service driven

  • Dependable and reliable

  • Willing and able to work non-standard work schedules when necessary

  • Ability to travel approximately 20% 

  • Must be able to read, write, fluently speak, and understand the English language

  • Possess the legal right to work in the United States

  • PHR/SPHR certification a plus

  • Working knowledge of HRIS, such as SAP, desired
