Sr. HR Specialist – Accuracy is everything

Job Description

Greek writer, Xenophon wrote “Fast is fine, but accuracy is everything.” We are looking for someone who exhibits and shares this philosophy to join our growing Human Resources team. Through careful planning and flawless execution, your efforts will directly contribute to a best in class employee experience in areas of benefits administration, employee experience and human resources support.

A Focus on Excellence:

  • Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, you will provide professional level Human Resources support with a focus in the areas of benefits administration, leaves of absence and HRIS system support.
  • Success will be demonstrated by ensuring compliant and uninterrupted benefit coverage, building relationships with all levels of employees as well as external resources/service providers and furthering the Company’s progress in exceeding goals in the areas of inclusion, wellness and continuous improvement in key areas.

  • In working for Fetzer Vineyards, a Certified B Corporation, you will grow in a company that has not only met the highest standards of social and environmental performance but conducts business as if people and place matter.

  • With nearly 100 acres at our corporate site in Hopland, California, employees enjoy seven mapped walking trails which provide stunning panoramas of vineyards, mature oaks and swaying moss. Our earth and energy friendly offices provide views of soaring hawks, bashful deer and grazing sheep.

The person:

You love detail and have an eagle eye for capturing and reporting information and data with the highest degree of accuracy. You can be trusted with maintaining the highest level of confidentiality in the day-to-day benefits administration of all health and welfare benefits - medical, dental, vision, FSA, voluntary coverage, life, disability, EAP and 401(k) - and leave of absence coordination - Personal, FMLA, PDL, Bonding and Workers’ Compensation. Accurate and compliant reporting is a welcome challenge and you find it like a puzzle where you can apply your advanced Excel and HRIS systems skills to develop more robust on-line resources and less paper and printing. Each month, you look forward to reviewing claims and contribution reports, reconciling billing statements and allocating/tracking ACA data, entering hires and terminations into voluntary benefit systems and submitting COBRA information to the third party administrator. And if you are bilingual in English/Spanish, that’s a huge benefit.

Requirements

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or related field preferred with a minimum of five years of related professional or administrative experience; or equivalent education/experience combination. CEBS, S/PHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP or related designation preferred.

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with ability to independently manage projects to completion.

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, independently plan, coordinate and complete projects with accuracy and within designated timeframe.

  • Requires exceptional written and verbal communication skills and the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of internal and external contacts, employees, vendors and guests.

  • Advanced computer skills in HRIS systems, Word, PowerPoint, Email, Excel, Publisher, Internet and related programs.
