In this role you will partner with the Bank’s managers to lead initiatives that bring the people and business together to achieve the Bank’s mission and strategic initiatives; create excellent and sustainable performance, and secure Exchange Bank as a Best Place to Work in the local market.


Staffing/Employment function:

-Develop, implement and evaluate the Bank’s talent acquisition strategies including recruiting, hiring and onboarding processes

-Oversee utilization of the applicant tracking system, data analysis and reporting

-Ensure compliance with Affirmative Action/EEO and other regulatory requirements including reporting, vendor management, promoting awareness through education and communication

-Ensure competitive and equitable compensation through effective salary practices


Employee Relations function:

-Establish strong partnerships with managers to influence and support overall positive working environment including effective coworker relations, communications, competency development, performance management, employee engagement and other variables impacting business results

-Support, coach, advise, and train managers on HR policies, practices and responsibilities

-Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and Exchange Bank’s policies and procedures

-Act as lead for conducting regulatory and workplace investigations, problem-solving, conflict resolution, counseling and recognition

-Champion the personal and professional development of Bank employees by consulting with managers and employees on development planning, learning and development opportunities, career pathing and succession planning

-Partner with senior leaders and managers to help analyze, create, or influence change necessary to drive the business forward

-Participate in strategic workgroups to provide feedback, develop or modify Bank-wide programs, policies and initiatives


What do you need to bring to the party?

-Knowledge of human resource methods and practices typically gained through 5-8 years HR generalist experience.

-Knowledge of behavioral interviewing techniques.

-Current knowledge of California and federal labor laws, rules and regulations related to employment practices.

-Demonstrated knowledge of HRIS systems and other Human Resource applications.

-Experience with compensation plans.

-Ability to establish trustful relationships, coach and influence others and mediate solutions to conflicts

-Ability to speak Spanish desirable.

-Bachelor’s Degree with an focus on Human Resources or other related fields and/or HR Certification (PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP) highly desirable
