Protocol Staffing Services is a division of Occasions Caterers and is seeking an energetic and highly motivated person to join our catering booking team. Prior experience in off premise catering recruiting or event planning and a passion for food is desirable.

Must be knowledgeable of D.C. sites and its culture as well as being comfortable in the presence of affluent clientele.

Catering Staffing Recruiter





The Catering Staffing Recruiter is primarily responsible for meeting Occasions staffing needs. In charge of posting ads, sourcing through resumes, conducting interviews of temporary seasonal staff and hiring the best talent that matches the company’s mission. Works closely with the Booking team to ensure the pool of staff personnel is relevant to the needs of the company on an ongoing yearly basis.


Essential Functions

1. Uses recruiting tools such as outside posting websites and social media to fill open positions.

2. Analyzes resumes accurately.

3. Interviews candidates to evaluate skills and qualifications for events assignments.

4. Conducts candidate reference checks.

5. Administers and coordinates onboarding orientation and ongoing service quality training.

6. Enter new hire staff information into FileMaker system accurately. Keeps confidential information secure by handling data according to departmental standards.

7. Develops and retains business by providing outstanding customer service to contract employees, sales department and other departments within the organization.

8. Troubleshoots to resolve problems or complaints of contract employees.

9. Maintains open and continuous communication with Booking colleagues and Sales Account Executives to support requirements of events.

10. Attends events on a regular basis to oversee attendance of staff and supervise their work.

11. Assist the Booking team with scheduling of staff members for events when needed.

12. Creates Excel spreadsheet reports to gather data and various queries.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.



This position requires approximately 20% travel to various local area events and meetings.

Required Education and Experience

1. Bachelor's degree and or an equivalent combination amount of related education, experience or training.

2. Three (3) years of experience in recruiting preferably in a staffing agency or for a high demand seasonal employer.

3. Proficient in software systems, FileMaker and Microsoft Office.

4. Preferred experience in hospitality or food service industry.

5. Bilingual (second language other than English) preferred.
