Job Details

The Supply Chain Human Resource Manager provides daily HR support to Distribution Center Operations at the Store Support Center and to all Distribution Centers enterprise wide. The HR MAnager assists the Director of Supply Chain HR with leading company and department initiatives to ensure the successful hiring, training, and engagement of all Supply Chain AutoZoners. Additionally, the HR Manager provides guidance on compliance matters, employee relations, policy and procedure, benefits, and performance management. The HR Manager exceeds customer’s expectation by delivering WOW! Customer Service by Living the Pledge every day.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Under the supervision of the Director, Supply Chain HR, advises SSC Supply Chain and Distribution Center (DC) Leadership on all matters related to developing strategic and tactical plans to align human resources with business goals and diversity standards. Continually monitors staffing and organizational needs, including performance management, succession planning, restructures and organization redesigns.
  • Staffing/Recruiting: includes but not limited to sourcing candidates through cold calls, posting jobs, networking through peer groups to help attract top candidates, screening and interviewing qualified candidates, scheduling candidates for interviews with complete interview team, help create possibilities for internal candidates to be promoted internally by getting them cross-trained within their scope of capabilities etc. Assist with the development of resources & activities to promote internal candidate career paths and progression.
  • Develops and maintains method by which to communicate HR policies and procedures effecting internal and external business practices to assigned business areas. Acts a liaison between SSC Supply Chain, Distribution Centers, and support departments. Troubleshoots breakdowns in communication and work processes.
  • Ensures prompt and professional follow-through on all matters related to benefits, payroll, and regulatory compliance (EEOA, ADA, FMLA, COBRA, Workers' Compensation Act, NLRA, applicable State labor laws, etc.)
  • Ensures prompt and professional response to all requests for employee relations guidance/assistance. Provides feedback and direction during investigations, accommodation requests, and interactive background assessments.
  • Partner with Fulfillment Center Manager and DC HR Manager to lead the Fulfillment Center. Full responsibility for FC operation, implementation of DCHR BBPs, all HR activity. Identify opportunities for improvement/solution/metrics/execution.
  • Manage Continuous Processes: DC succession plan, Kullman Firm relationship, temp agency relationships to include contracts, random drug screen process, climate survey process, job offer review & approval, critical hire review & approval, employee relations issues, update and execution of PD management meeting presentations, manage training programs and compliance, improve our use of technology.
  • Leadership to DCs and DCHR teams: DC visits, coaching, mentoring. Identify opportunities for improvement/solution/metrics/execution. Onboard and train new HR Managers. Heavily mentor/coach HR Managers and Advisors that are on the succession plan
  • System Support for DC HR Teams with PeopleSoft, AZPeople, eHire, RPM, Succession Planning, I9, Edge, and First Advantage.
  • Supply Chain Intern recruitment, interviews, and hiring. Coordinate Intern DC visit.
  • Provide input on Supply Chain and DC AutoZoner termination appeals
  • Prepare various reports and information requests for SSC Supply Chain and DCs.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree (BA, BS) or equivalent, preferably within Human Resources, Psychology, Business Management, or Organization Development.
  • Five to seven years of HR experience in an HR leadership role.
  • Ability to lead, influence, challenge, and identifyt and lead initiatives for process improvement.
  • Travel: 25-40%
