The primary purpose of this position is responsible for improving the productivity of an organizations employees. This position is responsible for the effective development, coordination and presentation of training and development programs for all employees.  The Talent Development Manager actively assesses, creates and implements effective methods to educate, drive desired behaviors and recognize performance.

 

Major Duties and Responsibilities:     

   

  • Conducts and coordinates employee training sessions and on‑the‑job training, including use of computers and software; conducts training in new services or products, and work safety practices, and refresher and upgrading training. Also may assist in new product or service projects and will be responsible for coordinating testing and implementation.

 

  • Formulates training outline and determines instructional methods, utilizing individual training, group instructions, demonstrations, and workshops; selects or develops training aids such as handbooks, visual aids, and tutorials.

 

  • Evaluates and assists in designing training manuals and related materials, training classes, and training procedures. Tracks the progress of trainees through routine tests, observation, and feedback from supervisors, evaluates the effectiveness of current training.

 

  • Participates in new product and services testing.  Serves as key organizational resource for organizational products and services.  Completes required reports and documents; attends meetings as required. 

 

  • Administers employee testing for new employees to ensure job proficiency.  Proficiency tests will also be administered to existing employees subject to any specific topic training. Manage all training objectives and goals to be established for the year.

 

  • Manages any problems in training effectiveness to the supervisor, making recommendations to resolve them. And complete reports and records accurately and in a timely manner.

 

  • Maintains a basic understanding of financial products, services, policies and procedures, as well as an understanding of the organizations mission.

Requirements


Knowledge, Education and Skill Requirements:

 

Experience:    Three to five years of similar or related training experience in a financial institution (i.e. banking, credit union, etc.).

 

Education:      Equivalent to a college degree (BS or BA in a relevant field).

 

Additional Preferred Education 

  • Certified Professional in Learning & Performance (CPLP) credential.
  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP).

 

Interpersonal Skills: A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact.  Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is usually of a personal or sensitive nature.  Work may involve motivating, influencing or training others. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others.

 

Additional Skills:       

  • Experience using Photoshop, Camtasia, Articulate and Snip It preferred.
  • Extensive talent and performance management experience managing global technology projects and virtual teams in a complex environment. Includes program management, business needs analysis, requirements documentation, testing expertise and system implementation and senior stakeholder management.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills.
  • Must be able to operate related computer software and business equipment including 10‑key, telephone, slide, film, overhead projector, and other related training aids.
  • Professionalism in appearance, dress, and attitude is a must.
  • Must have strong technical and computer skills.  Must be highly proficient in MS Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Fiserv experience is highly desirable.
  • Project management experience is desirable.
