Working with our Human Resources team, this role will be responsible for the alignment and development of the Toastmasters World Headquarters staff team. Major areas of focus will include developing a learning culture, performing ongoing needs analysis, design and implementation of onboarding and training programs, performance management and improvement, discipline, succession and knowledge management.


  • Be a champion for personal and professional development and foster a positive learning culture among the staff team
  • Work with our executive team and management to conduct ongoing KPI assessment and needs analysis across the organization to identify gaps and develop strategic solutions
  • Oversee the design, development and facilitation of professional development programs and training content for all levels from onboarding to management
  • Manage Toastmasters Online Learning Center, LinkedIn Learning LMS, compliance courses and maintain training records
  • Manage the performance evaluation process (Taleo Perform) and work with managers to provide meaningful feedback and performance improvement
  • Assisting managers with succession and progressive discipline plans and oversee the separation process, exit meetings with managers/employees and completing separation paperwork and tasks
  • Work with department managers and IT to develop knowledge management and delivery solutions so team members have easy access to current resources when assisting members or seeking steps for internal processes  
  • Develop ongoing communication methods, a dashboard or series of metrics to regularly communicate progress

Knowledge and Skills

  • Proficiency in adult learning methods as well as course design and development.
  • Doing well at this will require a strong knowledge of Toastmasters strategies, operations and organizational implications
  • Ability to work well with individuals, while collaborating in small groups, presenting before a larger group, as well as work independently
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills and ability to establish rapport with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong coaching skills
  • Proficiency in learning management systems - Cornerstone a plus
  • Experienced with performance evaluation systems – Taleo Perform a plus
  • Experienced with e-learning authoring tools - Captivate and Articulate a plus



  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Organizational Development, Business or related field
  • Minimum three years’ professional experience in training and development
  • ATD Certification a plus
