Job Details

This class is responsible for increasing the effectiveness and efficiency of employees and the organization through: assessing the training needs of employees; planning, implementing, and evaluating training activities for employees; providing system-wide application of behavioral science knowledge in the planned development, improvement, and reinforcement of the strategies, structures, and processes that lead to organizational effectiveness.  Provides consultative services to organization, group, and individual levels; provides professional development and organizational management services to include teambuilding, career development, and leadership development. 

Bachelor’s Degree in Training, Organizational Development, Education, Human Services, Sociology, Psychology or Business or related field and four years related experience. Experience must be related to adult education in developing curricula, presentation skills, coaching, data analysis, and management. Position requires a valid NC or SC Driver’s License.

Requirements

This position will primarily support the following learning & development functional activities:

  • Serve as the primary lead in the development of a competency framework model across the County. 
  • Leading and facilitating the County’s succession planning initiative.
  • Facilitating organizational development initiatives.

These activities require a high level of partnership with County departments and staff at all levels of the organization.  The candidate must have the ability to communicate across various stakeholder groups and influence organizational change to achieve desired results. 

The preferred candidate will have demonstrated work experience in all three of these activities, specifically focusing on the development of competencies.  Experience managing organizational wide initiatives and/or large scale projects is also preferred.
