Position Overview

The Talent Manager is responsible to support the People & Culture Team in all areas of the HR function.  This role will have three primary areas of focus: (1) coaching and counseling of talents and managers regarding performance, career development, training and recruitment; and developing initiatives and programs in these areas, (2) participation in merger and acquisition activities including HR due diligence and integration, and (3) providing general support in all areas of the HR function.  

 

Primary Duties

  • Coach and counsel managers and employees on issues related to employee development, performance management, succession planning, HR policy and practice interpretation and other general HR issues.
  • Consults with managers to develop effective documentation for performance improvement/disciplinary documents.
  • Participating in and developing expertise in due diligence and integration activities.
  • Provide advice and counsel to all levels of management regarding Human Resources practices, policies, and employment laws in order to ensure compliance with state and federal laws
  • Works collaboratively with others throughout the company and serves as a resource to BU and Group Leaders.
  • Develops a strong partnership with the leaders and managers to understand the goals and objectives of the BU, group functions or departments. Makes recommendations and identifies solutions regarding human resources policies and practices to support business goals.
  • Participates in development and delivery of new hire onboarding.
  • Develops process improvements within the internal structure of the People & Culture team to increase efficiencies.
  • Ability to understand problems in the context of the bigger picture and influential relationships as well as the overall industry and marketplace in which MCI USA operates.
  • Strong drive for results to lead and facilitate efforts to ensure human resources alignment with the business units and group functions.
  • Ability to serve as a trusted advisor dealing directly with leadership and management to build consensus, establish trust, communicate effectively and foster culture change.
  • Lead or participate in company-wide initiatives including, but not limited to mergers and acquisitions, HR and business transformation projects as well as lead, support and sustain change. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Skills & Experience

The Talent Manager should possess 6 or more years of progressive human resources experience. 

  • Must demonstrate empathy; the ability to communicate persuasively; and have prior experience inspiring trust, confidentiality and candor. Sensitivity to diversity, organizational dynamics, issues of confidentiality; and excellent attention to detail are essential.
  • Strong listening, oral/presentation, written communication and collaboration skills.
  • Demonstration of good judgment in difficult environments.
  • Flexible and organized with the ability to deal with many different personalities, competing priorities and the pressure of meeting deadlines.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Clear understanding of client service and working effectively as a member of a team and independently.
  • Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
  • Proactive, assertive leader who is influential with political acumen.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, foster and sustain collaborative working relationships at all levels within the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision and to successfully complete multiple tasks in required time frames.
  • Strong computer efficiency a must, with particular knowledge of HR Systems, Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
  • Proven skills in coaching and performance management. 

 

Education 

The Talent Manager should possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management with related studies in Human Resources or a Bachelor’s Degree in HR Management. HR Certification is desirable, but not required. 

 

Travel

 

Willing and able to travel to different company sites and merger & acquisition target locations.
