MTA NYC Transit (NYCT) serves more than 5 million subway customers and 2.5 million bus customers on an average weekday. Its 48,000 employees provide mass transit and paratransit service throughout the five boroughs of New York City, including operating almost 6,400 subway cars at 472 stations. 

Operations Training provides numerous training programs (approximately 350 individual courses) focusing on: safety, security, induction of new hires and promotees, conventional and new equipment and skill refreshers. Programs are developed in partnership with NYC Transit’s departmental management and where appropriate, other MTA agencies, in response to mandates by Federal, State and City entities.

Operations Training is seeking a Training & Curriculum Developer (Transit Management Analyst) to support the curriculum development and facilitation of new courses focusing on customer service and supervisory skills in a variety of areas as well as content redesign and establishment of standardized curriculums for various safety and technical training courses delivered by Subways Operations Training. The analyst will be responsible for reviewing and clearly defining current needs, determining efficiencies in course length, offering clear recommendations and implementing determined course improvements.  In addition, the analyst will support Operations Training staff in designing training materials in a well-organized manner that meets the needs of adult learners. The incumbent will be part of the team involved in implementing significant improvements to the current curriculum, how it is presented and delivered to our employees.

Requirements:

A master’s degree from an accredited college in business administration, public administration, public policy, engineering, engineering technology, economics, architecture, mathematics, physics, computer science, finance, accounting, transportation planning, industrial psychology, urban planning/studies, human resources management, labor relations, operations research, security management or in a related area, and one year of full-time professional experience in the collection, evaluation and use of data relating to operational procedures, administrative systems, equipment and space utilization, and staffing requirements, including the preparation of charts, graphs, drawings and technical reports; or A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in one of the areas listed in above; and two years of full-time satisfactory, relevant experience.

  • Ability to adapt to changing conditions and maximize limited resources
  • Ability to interact with personnel at all levels in the organization
