Position: Training and Development Coordinator

Location: County Building, Waukegan, Illinois

Salary: $50,242 - $63,293

 

Job Summary: Responsible for analyzing training needs, developing curriculum and delivering courses in an environment that values diversity, employee growth, customer service and effective change management. The training coordinator evaluates program effectiveness to ensure training is addressing the practical needs of departments and is responsible for development of reporting for measurement of training needs and results.

 

Becoming a Training and Development Coordinator would allow you to be involved with all departments within local government, ranging from the Division of Transportation and Public Works to the Sheriff’s office.   Your day will consist of consultations with department managers and supervisors to identify training needs for teams and individuals along with developing, implementing and delivering training programs for varying levels of individuals within the organization.

 

You will have opportunities to impact and make a difference within Lake County. Being able to build working relationships with employees, 30 countywide departments and the public, is sure to keep you interested and continuously learning. 

 

In order to be successful in this role you should have a bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years of experience. Individuals should have experience in developing and implementing training programs; possess the ability to effectively problem solve and have the ability to work both individually and in a team atmosphere.
