Job Details

The Training Specialist is responsible for assisting employees of all levels develop their professional skills and knowledge; providing complete training to share expertise in ways that motivate others. Consults with internal clients prior to designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining training materials and programs in both classroom and Web-based environments as requested. Must be able to work well with others, teach a variety of skills and personalities, and make adjustments whenever necessary.

JOB DESCRIPTION DETAILS

• Liaise with managers to determine training needs and schedule training sessions

• Design effective training programs

• Schedule individual and team training plans on a regular basis

• Evaluate strengths and weaknesses to identify training needs by conducting needs assessment and analysis

• Oversee training material and suggest improvements

• Design onboarding session for new hires

• Report on training program effectiveness and associated KPIs

• Select and book venues

• Conduct seminars, workshops, individual training sessions etc.

• Prepare educational material such as module summaries, videos etc.

• Support and mentor new employees

• Manage training budgets

• Conduct evaluations to identify areas of improvement

• Monitor employee performance and response to training

• Stay up-to-date with employee development trends

• Create an open-communication climate and gather team members’ preferences for potential training

• Maintain updated curriculum database and training record

Special Job Dimensions- May be required to travel up to 40% of the time.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Extensive knowledge of learning principles and modern training techniques

• Knowledge of effective teaching methodologies and tools

• Ability to keep abreast of new techniques in corporate teaching

• Proficient in MS Office (esp. PowerPoint); e-learning software is required

• Excellent communication, presentation and public speaking skills

• Ability to think critically and make decisions

• Ability to anticipate needs and provide appropriate solutions

• Strong organizational and team management skills

• Ability to manage the full training cycle

• Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills

• Ability to speak in front of a large group

• Ability to use discretion and good sound judgment

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

• Ability to perform with superior service, reflecting a positive company image while sustaining a positive attitude with those you interact with; always going above and beyond to help others out, regardless of their position or department.

• Ability to adhere to the highest standards of quality while continually performing at the highest possible level.

Education, Certification/License & Work Experience

• BS/BA in Business, HR, Industrial Organization Psychology, Education or relevant field

• A minimum of 5 years proven work experience

• Certification (e.g. CPLP) is a plus, prefer PHR or SPHR

• Previous training experience in a corporate or sales environment preferred
