EnerBank USA (Salt Lake City) is a well-established bank and is expanding. Over the past five years, we have experienced rapid growth and we are looking for someone to lead the Bank’s Human Resource function and help take the bank to the next level. 
 
We are not a typical “brick and mortar” bank. We are a highly specialized billion-dollar bank, providing home improvement lending through strategic business partners and independent home improvement contractors throughout the United States. Typical strategic partners are manufacturers, distributors or franchisors of home improvement products and services.

Position Overview:
 
This position reports to the Bank’s Executive Vice President responsible for bank operations. The Vice President and Manager of Human Resources primary duty is to develop and manage the human resource function to ensure the Bank has adequate human resources to meet the strategic goals and operational plans of the Bank.  Additionally, this position will work with the Bank’s management team to ensure that Bank’s is staffed with the right people with the right skills at the right time.  This is a management level position, with direct reports, in a professional environment with opportunities for advancement based upon the candidate’s motivation and desire to meet and exceed expectations. This position will have authority to write procedures and make decisions that may have a financial impact to the Bank as well as influence and model Bank culture enabling the Bank to have consistent communication, development and opportunity for every employee.
 
Qualifications:
 
The qualified candidate will have the desire and ability to create and execute a business plan for the Human Resources function.  The individual should be able to work both autonomously and as part of a team in a professional work environment and possesses strong verbal and written communication skills.  Working within a collaborative environment and the ability influence strategic decisions that will positively impact the Bank and its culture are an important measurement for this position.  The candidate will be able to demonstrate an ability to successfully create and lead a human resources department and is keenly aware of industry best practices and is up to date on legislative and regulatory requirements related to human resources, payroll, etc.  The candidate will have the responsibility to protect and enhance the Bank’s reputation in the local employee market. The candidate will have experience managing a staff and significant experience in building relationships with managers and employees to advise on development programs and assist in disciplinary actions.  
 
 
Primary Responsibilities:
 
•Maintain a Human Resources Program and gain the support of the Bank’s senior management team
•Manage the Human Resource and Office Management staff
•Independently manage the Human Resource Department by acting as liaison between EnerBank and Corporate Departments at Consumers Energy related to human resource matters.
•Monitor and influence Bank culture ensuring it aligns with Bank values
•Manages departmental budget
•Advises management on all employee issues related to; disciplinary actions, performance issues and code of conduct complaints
•Oversee Office Management functions
•Review and approve all background checks
•Review all job descriptions and advise on salary grade and salary, maintains library of approved job descriptions
•Work with management on employee incentive plans
•Oversee and enhance employee annual review process
•Work with management on employee development ensuring each position has a defined career path(s)
•Works on development and revisions to the employee handbook
•Coordinate with Bank’s Compliance Department to monitor corporate ethics policy compliance, HR social media procedures adherence, etc.
•Ensure all new employees are adequately trained on Bank required training for new hires
•Oversee employee morale and appreciation/recognition programs
•Respond and gather data for Compensation Committee requests related to compensation studies and metrics
•Develop monthly management approved employee newsletter along with streamlining employee communication
•Oversee the administration of new hire process, personnel files & payroll
•Respond to employee and management inquiries regarding paychecks, timesheets and benefits
•Use discretion when making decisions that could have a financial impact to the Bank within authority or obtain required approval(s)
•Use workforce data to identify emerging trends and provide recommendations for improving organizational performance
•Develop and implement change management plans and lead the organization through effective change management efforts.
•Ensure that Bank complies with all regulatory requirements related to human resources. 
•Other duties as assigned

•Bachelor’s degree, post graduate degree in human resources preferred
