POSITION SUMMARY

The Vice President of Human Resources guides and manages the overall provision of Human Resources services, policies, and programs across all Bluestone markets. The major areas directed are: recruiting and staffing; performance management and improvement systems; organizational development; employment compliance; employee orientation and development; human resources policy development and documentation; employee relations company employee communication; compensation and benefits administration; and employee services. 

The Vice President of Human Resources originates and leads Human Resources practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented, high performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity and standards, goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce.

The Vice President of Human Resources coordinates implementation of services, policies, and programs through Human Resources staff; reports to the CEO, serves on the Bluestone Leadership Team; and assists and advises company managers about Human Resources issues.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Provides leadership and vision through effective planning and decision making to achieve company goals in Human Resources
  • Assures optimal recruiting across all positions, including coordination of external recruiters.
  • Forms and maintains positive relationships with key external and internal stakeholders
  • Maintains up to date knowledge of and assures compliance with all HR compliance requirements
  • Develops and assures efficient practices and workflows throughout the HR department.
  • Systematically reviews Bluestone’s benefits and coverage policies to assure optimum value.
  • Working in collaboration with Leadership Team, develops and maintains high quality employee development program.
  • Assures Bluestone’s compensation program meets or exceeds market standards, is fair, and communicated well to employees.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Human Resources
  • 7-10 years of progressive experience in management roles
  • Certification including PHR/SPHR/SHRM-CP required

Working Conditions:

  • Work Environment - This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, tablets, phones, and copiers.
  • Physical Demands - This is primarily a sedentary role working indoors; however, some walking is required. The position would require the ability to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds and bend or stand as necessary. 
  • Minimal Travel – Up to 15% local & national travel is required for this position.
